Welcome to the Brisbane Sci-Fi, a group that was created for people with an interest in science fiction, fantasy, comics and all other similar genres. Its main purpose is to allow those people who live in or around the Brisbane and South East Queensland area the chance to communicate with each others, so that like minded people have a chance to get to know each other.

It’s a pretty new idea, only started in Feburary 2007, but we have high hopes that Brisbane Sci-Fi will develop into a more serious social-group. We already have 26 members and try to organise as many meetups as we can. And although we enjoy hanging out with people who are interested in talking about Sci-Fi and Fantasy, we also enjoy just chatting about everyday stuff.

There are no obligations, and certainly no fees, only a website that gives you access to members so you can email them (if you’re a little shy), chat online (if your interested in getting the know someone better but without contact), and finally 'meetups' so we can to talk to each other in person. All this information, including member profiles and calendar dates for meetups/events can be found on the website though the links above.

With all that said, I hope that you guys are as earger about this idea as we are. We already have a few members who are all really interested in getting to know some of the like minded people in Brisbane. So have a look around, see if there is anything you like, and join in the fun.
